American people have a short time to eat lunch. Breakfast and lung is usually eaten on the run. They usually eat quick meal in fast food restaurant such

as MC Donalds, Burger King or KFC.

For dinner some ready prepared meal and heated in microwave oven. They usually eat together. The most typically American food is hamburger.

Christmas meals: in the US there is served roasted turkey and pumpkin or apple pie (it is also served on

Thanksgiving Day)

- we shouldn’t make rude noises (belch, burp)

- place napkin on your lap

- leave the table after the meal finished

- don’t talk with full mouth

- always says: please, thank you, ... “Will you pass (podat) me the salt, please?”

When we have celebration (birthday, graduation, wedding ceremony) or because that is more comfortable.

What happens In the restaurant? Waiter welcomes us. At the place we are to sit down, we usually find a plate. On its right side there is a knife and a spoon, on the left side there is a fork. The silverware includes a teaspoon as well, which is placed above our plate. In the upper left corner should be a glass of water. There should be napkins on the table. But it is on our selections. Then comes starter (appetizers) the soup and the main dish. At the end of the meal the waiter brings the bill. We pay and add a tip for good service.
