here from the churches and cathedrals. The 

centres of musical activity in the Renaissance 

era were Italian cities like Rome or Venice. 

Thanks to the invention of the printing press 

by Johannes Gutenberg, music became widely 

accessible.

The Baroque period was an era of art between 

roughly 1600 and 1750. Opera became the 

biggest innovation of Baroque music, but 

many other musical forms were created.

19th century. Opera and ballet were 

the most common musical forms.

Classicism was an era of music in the 

second half of the 18th century and the 

early 19th century. The most important sign 

of this period is the development of public 

concerts. It was influenced pretty much by 

the philosophy of Ancient Greece and Rome.

popularity in 1940s and was
