FIRST INHABITANS IN AMERICA
America is not a continent of human genesis like Asia or Africa
there are no remains of those beings that mark the transition towards human beings
America was inhabited later than other continents when the humans came
this gradual slow process started at the end of the ice age when the geography changed, climate was milder
and people were looking for better places to live because they could travel further
the 1st ancestor might be from central Asia and Siberia and settled in the North America (Canada, Alaska)

0 000 year ago - from Asia they crossed the Behring Straits which was iced, and went southwards
- hunters from Siberia crossed the bridge into Alaska
there are different groups of native Americans adapted to different geographical conditions:
hunters, fishermen (on shores), farmers, peaceful tribes, warriors, producers
TRIBES

the Pueblo Hopi – farmers

lived in groups of villages or in towns
•
made clothing and blankets from cotton
•
planted maize (kukuřice) and beans

the Navaho - producers
• good at processing metals (silver)• made their carpets• lived in hogans• grew: corn, beans, squash and maize• for food and trade: sheep and goats

the Apache - warriors

no settled farmers
•
wandered the deserts and mountains
•
haunted deer
•
gathered wild plants, nuts and roots
•
good at raising horses
each tribe has an own language and they led different ways of life (fought among each other)
they believed that they used to live inside the Earth where are 4 different levels and they cycle in the history of
the world to get onto the surface and populated the Earth (they got out near Arizona)
after death humans goes to a place that looks like an enormous ocean
they warship even number 2, 4 and 6
