1733 – Georgia (last, 13th, colony) founded
AMERICAN REVOLUTION

the new society wasn’t a paradise because problems appeared because of money /taxes
colonies were developing well and Britain needed those colonies a lot because of taxes
colonies paid money to England (London – city council) but they had no representatives in British Parliament
they couldn’t control the money and the way it is spent (money was taken and used in England)
this led to American revolution: War of Independence
Britain didn’t fight only with the Dutch but also with France (Franco-British conflicts of the Seven Years’ War)
1763 – Treaty of Paris – France gave up its claim on Canada and North America was under British authority
1765 – Stamp Act
sending letters to Europe became much more expensive
British increased taxes for stamps in colonies (colonists had to buy special tax stamps and attach them to
newspapers, licences and legal papers such as will and mortgages)
