- caused by Saddam Hussein (leader of Iraq) because of oil sources
- he invaded Kuwait (originally part of the Iraq state) and this invasion made him have control
of 1/8 of world oil sources
- America said: that is too much dangerous this country is controlling too much 1st Gulf War broke out
- other countries participated in the war as well because they were afraid of competition from Iraq

- President Bill Clinton had an affair with a young intern (stážistka) Monica Lewinski in White House
- the scandal would be OK, but the problem was that he lied in front of people and he resigned
11th September 2001 - Twins Tower
- Twin Towers were a symbol of American democracy which were destroyed by 2 suicidal plains
- also Pentagon was attacked, the plan was to attack the White House as well but luckily not done
- this is the most shocking event in US history – there was no war in the US since Civil War unlike Europe
(nobody alive experience the war in the USA)
- the USA is vulnerable (zranitelný) – it was a shock that they were attacked, since Civil War they didn’t fight and
it was something that they couldn’t get that even the USA can be attacked

- by President George Bush junior (43rd President)-
a consequence of Twins event against terrorism
