RESUMÉ 

A  Constitution  is  the  highest  standard  of  the  legal  force 

determining  the  main  principles  of  the  nation.  There  are  other 

constitutional  laws,  laws,  and  legal  rules  closely  linked  to  it.    The 

constitutional  development  of  every  nation  is  obvious  and  during 

its history undergoes many changes. 

The main aim of this work is to give a general overview of the 

development of the Czech constitutional system since its beginning 

in  the  first  half  of  the  19th  century  till  the  end  of  the  Habsburk 

monarchy.       

In  the  first  part  of  this  work,  I  pay  my  attention  to  the 

revolutionary  year  1848,  the  end  of  the  strict  feudal  absolutism 

and the year of establishing the basis of the new modern nation. 

In  the  next  part,  I  try  to  describe  the  circumstances  of  the 

April  Constitution  in  1848,  which  was  the  first  constitution  of  the 

Habsburk  monarchy.  Afterwards,  I  pursue  the  Kroměříž  concept 

and the March Constitution concept in 1849 and following attempt 

of  re-establishing  the  absolutism  system.  The  year  1861
