THE 1960’s
decade of revolt (vzpoura) against Establishment (vládnoucí třída)
intensive fights: communist x capitalist system
1960 – Birth Control Pill
women could have sex with whom they wanted because this discovery liberated women and changed customs
this freedom didn’t last long because the AIDS appeared
1961 – Berlin Wall - Soviets built a wall in Berlin (= symbol of the cold war)
- it separated the communist east part of Berlin from west part of French, American and British (better paid)
- up to this year the Soviets were angry because people escaped to other parts of Berlin, then they decided to
build that wall (among runaways were many skilled and educated people and the East needed such people)
