between 1942 and 1945 along the western coast of Europe and Scandinavia as a defence against an
anticipated Allied invasion of the mainland continent from Great Britain
this Atlantic Wall was ruined by Allied Powers
this act led to opening the 2nd front (in Normandy - France)
until 1944 only Soviet Union fought against Germany and now it could be done from Normandy
German soldiers were surprised and not prepare at all and Allied soldiers marched across France
August 1944 – Liberation of Paris
a military conflict until the German garrison (základna) surrendered the French capital on 25th August 1944
France was free thanks to USA and it was a huge success
Paris was made as a capital of France
